We do our best to keep our list up to date. PAYMENT & DELIVERY

Wines only ever leave the shop after receipt of cleared UK£ funds, payment in full. Due to an increase in attempted and actual card fraud in the world of fine wine, which we have suffered, for all orders we now require payment in full, cleared funds, by bank transfer prior to collection, shipping or delivery. We no longer accept card or other digital payment by email, phone or other remote means.

We can offer delivery in Ludlow, depending on timing, value and exact destination. Beyond Ludlow, as a small independent not having an in-house delivery service or personnel, we can offer UK VAT paid delivery (UK mainland, residential or business addresses only, signature required) via DHL. This carries a fixed charge for 1 - 6 bottles, or 7 - 12 bottles. Please e-mail for current tariffs. We do not use and cannot coordinate with other third party couriers.

Please do bear in mind that unlike many online retailers we are also a proper, physical shop here in the centre of Ludlow. Collection in person using a credit card/PIN is always an option with the added benefits that you get to visit our beautiful, historic town and may be tempted by other great products!

POSTAGE & PACKING

We pack in transit packaging for shipment via DHL, with delivery during business hours. We will confirm the exact day/date prior to shipping. We will need a contact name, e-mail address and mobile phone number for the waybill, and so that we can send you tracking details. The courier requires someone to accept delivery, so we strongly advise that you select a date and address when you know someone will definitely be in and available.

LOCAL DELIVERY, UK MAINLAND SHIPPING, DUTY & VAT PAID ONLY

All our wines are physically in Ludlow. We only deliver or ship UK Duty & VAT paid to UK mainland residential and business addresses. We cannot sell, transfer or deliver In Bond. We do not ship to addresses outside the UK, and cannot refund or reclaim any taxes or costs. We can only provide a full UK VAT invoice on request, but cannot provide or process any customs, duty or other export documents.

We can on occasion sell certain of our wines to customers based outside the UK who want to arrange their own onward shipping via a UK-based freight forwarder/consolidator, or to customers who want to put wine into UK bonded storage, but only if they:

1) Place a minimum order of £600, 2) arrange collection during opening hours from our Ludlow shop by their own warehouse or courier, along with onward shipping if necessary, 3) pay in advance by bank transfer, and 4) pay UK Duty & VAT. On collection, all risks, liabilities and the need for any official customs or other documentation, will transfer to the customer, the courier and/or their agent.

These represent the accepted terms and conditions attached to any purchase.

Please note that: 1) Under no circumstances whatsoever can we sell any wine to anyone, anywhere, without charging UK Duty & VAT, and 2) some of our fine wines are allocated to us by the producer on the understanding that we will sell them only to bona-fide UK consumers - we are unable to sell these wines to trade buyers or for re-export.
